  24.     The HiCiV is a usefull utility designed for Civilization II.
  25.  
  26.          While playing Civilization II the HiCiV keeps watch over your civilization (and the others as well) and writes out your history.
  27.  
  28.     The present version of the HiCiV saves main parameters of all civilizations (population, number of cities, gold, science level) and at ANY instant (not only after finishing the game) shows out the current state as well as the time-dependent graphs.

  30.     The utility allows to finish the game with automatic history saving and then loads up the saved game and continues writing the history .

  32.     Future versions will keep watch over a number of the other parameters (with more details) and will write up the whole history including exact dates of important events.

  39.     Please follow the guide EXACTLY because this version doesn't understand some of possible errors. Although these errors can not damage any files or programs, the HiCiV will not work properly.

  42.     INSTALLATION AND PREPARING FOR USE
  43.     ----------------------------------

  45.     1. The utility includes 3 files - "hiciv.exe" , "watchis.exe" and "hiciv.txt". They must be copied in the same folder with Civilization II files ( "civ2.exe" and others).

  47.     2. Make sure that option "Game|Game Options|Autosave each turn" in the Civilization II menu was TURNED ON before your today's running Civilization II.

  50.     HOW TO USE THE HICIV
  51.     --------------------
  52. ****Version 1.02 sure works under Civ2 v.2.62 and lower. It was not tested for v.2.78 by now****

  54.     1. Run "hiciv.exe".
  55.     2. Click the "Start watch" button.
  56. ****Please don't press other buttons before several Civilization turns were played****
  57.     3. If it is not your first HiCiV running, you will most probably see dialog box "HiCiV-Message". The "Old file name" button will show your previous game with saved history. You must select : start new game or continue old one. Check one of radio buttons and click "OK". Then click "Exit" button.
  58.     4. Run Civilization II.
  59. ****Current version works only for new games that will start from 4000BC****
  60.     5. Start new game or load saved one (as you selected before).
  61.     6. During playing Civilization you can open HiCiV window. In current version grayed buttons don't work. Also sometimes you will see zeroes instead of current data. The latter error causes by features of Windows 95 work and doesn't affect any graphs.
  62.     7. After closing Civilization click "Stop watch" button on HiCiV toolbar.
  63.     8. Close HiCiV and click "OK" in dialog box about watch stop.
